Stepping Into The Work

This retreat is designed as a deeply immersive training experience in presence, embodiment, and learning how to work with others in a grounded and intuitive way. Over four days, you’ll move through a progressive journey of: Presence → Body → Responsiveness → Energy → Emotion → Integration

This is not a purely intellectual training. You’ll learn through direct experience, guided instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in both practitioner and receiver roles. Throughout the retreat, you’ll complete twelve progressive practice rounds, beginning with focused skill development and building toward complete integration sessions.

Each stage builds on the one before it, allowing your awareness, sensitivity, confidence, and individual way of working to develop naturally.

Why This Is Different

This is not a training built around memorization, rigid techniques, or fixed protocols. It is designed to help you develop something deeper: the ability to feel, listen, and respond to what is present in another person.

Rather than learning a system to simply apply, you’ll develop greater sensitivity to the body, nervous system, emotion, and subtle energy while learning how to respond with presence, intuition, and care. There is structure, but it is not restrictive.

There is guidance, but there is also room to discover your own authentic way of working. The goal is not to perform a technique perfectly. It is to become more present, responsive, and confident in your ability to meet what is actually happening in the moment.

Learning Through Experience

Over the course of the retreat, you’ll develop practical skills in embodied presence, somatic awareness, responsive touch, nervous system attunement, energy awareness, and emotional facilitation.

You’ll learn how to recognize what the body is communicating, remain grounded as emotion arises, work with subtle energetic shifts, and support movement without forcing or fixing.

Through twelve progressive practice rounds, you’ll experience the work from both sides, as practitioner and receiver.

By the final day, you’ll bring these skills together within a clear, repeatable session framework designed to support safety, consent, intuition, and responsive practice.

“I was fortunate enough to attend a Dearmouring training co-facilitated by Rory. The training was profound. He embodies a deep and gentle masculine energy: compassionate, grounding, and most importantly as a woman, safe. His teaching style is supportive and empowering, trusting us to be imperfectly perfect, to make mistakes, and to have our own style and strengths.” - Kara S.
